Helping to provide access to everything…
for those with a visual impairment
WHY IS ACCESS FOR THE VISUAL IMPAIRED SO IMPORTANT?
To someone with a visual impairment, access means more than just being able to access a building.
It means
⁃ Being able to get access to information
⁃ Having access to goods and services
⁃ Being able to use websites and apps
⁃ Making the best use of technology
Overall, it means people with a visual impairment can independently live, work and travel, alongside their sighted peers.
The Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) estimates that there are over 2,000,000 people in the UK and 285,000,000 people in the world living with sight loss on a daily basis.
In the USA the National Federation of the Blind believes that the number of adults living with sight loss is over 7,675,600 and in the EU the European Blind Union estimates that within geographical Europe there are over 30,000,000 people living with sight loss.
All needing aCCESS.
